Ariana Grande has unveiled the official music video for “Right There” which features rapper Big Sean and it confirmed the theory that she is definitely hooked on the 90s.
The petite diva who is a huge fan of Mariah Carey is also a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio because she decided to base the visual’s concept on his 1996 blockbuster movie “Romeo + Juliet” which also starred Claire Danes and was directed by Baz Luhrmann (the same man behind The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge!).
The theme of the clip for “Right There” is masquerade ball – perfect for Halloween right?
Grande took on the role of Juliet dressed in a Victorian age gown who is a having fun at the soiree with all her friends.
For some strange reason – she passed on the option of having Sean (who played the priest and never shared a scene with the Floridian) as her love interest, instead opting for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick Schwarzenegger.
And just like in the cult movie Patrick Schwarzenegger aka Romeo along with his friends illegally entered the fancy mansion and swept Juliet off her feet and danced the night away.
After partying like crazy kids the pair jumped in the pool for a less steamy and scandalous version of Danes and DiCaprio’s make-out session (see original version below).
This is the third single (“The Way” and “Baby I” ) lifted from Grande’s chart-topping debut album “Yours Truly.”
The Sam & Cat actress along with several other artists such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke will be taking part in the Jingle Ball tour, which will begin on Dec. 2 at the Staples Center in California.
The entertainer is also working on a Christmas EP. Via Twitter she announced:
MY BEST FRIEND @ALEXALURIA SURPRISED ME AT MY SESSION TONIGHT. I FINISHED MY CHRISTMAS EP AND MY BEST FRIEND IS HERE IM THE HAPPIEST
