R. Kelly is pushing his new album “Black Panties” as hard as he can keeping his name out there with fresh stories everyday.
Kelly started the day by releasing the “My Story (LA Remix)” featuring Too Short and Nipsey Hussle. The original song features rapper 2 Chainz and is currently climbing the R&B chart peaking this week at number 9.
“My Story (LA Remix)” kept the same structure as “My Story (Chicago Remix)” that was released three weeks ago and featured Katie Got Bandz and Rockie Fresh.
The new remix is pretty good but does not best its predecessor. It is strong enough though to keep the original track getting spins on the radio.
R. Kelly also debuted a behind the scenes clip for his upcoming music video “Cookie” that is expected to premiere in the upcoming days. Kellz’s “Black Panties” album will be out on Tuesday in the US.
The singer who will perform on The View on the release day, will also sit down with Elliott Wilson from Rap Radar for a live interview at the Cutting Room in New York City. The event is part of the CRWN series and tickets are on sale now for $20.
A new collaboration with Pop music reigning prince Justin Bieber and the debut of Lady Gaga’s new music video for the hit song “Do What U Want” are also expected before the end of the year.
Although the Pied Piper of R&B never really stopped releasing new music in the past five years following the non guilty verdict in his trial, pop culture was giving him the cold shoulder a little bit, so 2013 could be described as the year he returned to the top of the charts.
Some will call “Black Panties” a return-to-form album but the description is not accurate since Kelly previously released three albums before this one that were really better.
Mr Kelly has always been on his A game when it comes to solo projects, it’s just that the media has now decided his time in the doghouse should be over.
